This registry tweak will cascade all of the files held within the My Documents folder as a menu on the Windows Start menu.
Caution:
Incorrectly editing the registry may render your system inoperable - requiring the re-installation of Windows.
Editing the Registry:
Open the Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe).
Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER to:
Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced
In the right pane of RegEdit, right-click on CascadeMyDocuments and select Modify from the drop-down menu.
Note: If CascadeMyDocuments does not exist:
Create it by right-clicking in the right pane of the registry editor and select New\String Value from the drop-down menu.
Rename New Value #1 that is created to CascadeMyDocuments and press enter - then follow the instruction given above in step 3.
In the Edit String dialog box change the NO in the "Value Data" section to YES.
Click OK button.
Exit the Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe).
The change to the registry is reflected the next time the system is rebooted.
Restoring the Registry Setting:
To return the Start menu to its default, open RegEdit and open HKEY_CURRENT_USER to:
Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced
Change the CascadeMyDocuments value to: NO and reboot the system.
